Barack Obama has won enough delegates to secure the Democratic Nomination. Obama, the winner of the North Carolina Primary has secured enough delegates already in South Dakota, along with many national super delegates. He surpassed the 2,118 mark around nine o’ clock this afternoon. Mrs. Clinton is expected to concede shortly, though she has threatened to take her fight all the way to the convention. This could be a possibility if Obama does not offer her the Vice Presidential spot. Many believe that there is too much bad blood between the two for this to happen.

With global warming severely dampening the harvesting of prized truffle mushrooms in Europe, where growing used to produce about a thousand tons of the delicacy in the early part of last century to about fifty tons a year currently, North Carolina farmers stand to make up some of that difference and some money to boot.

Our Polls closed promptly at 7pm and every news organization soon projected Barack Obama the winner of the North Carolina Primary. So bad in fact most television cable pundits are now saying it is impossible for her to come back and somehow gain the Democratic Nomination. The only way the former first lady could be the nominee would be to some how broker a deal that would sway the super-delegates to ignore the voters and hand her the nomination despite losing in number of delegates, popular vote and states.
With the showing in North Carolina and the media now against her there is now very little chance of her being on the ballot in November, except run as an independent.
