Fishing

Our cabins are on the property with our own private three acre mountain lake in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains and close to the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is stocked with Trout, Catfish, Bass, Carp and pan-fish can also be caught and there is no limit on how many of those fish you can catch, but there is a limit to trout and catfish. The trout in our lake are known to grow well up to 22 inches. Feel free to eat the fish or take them home to mount as 22 inch trout are quite good trophies. Some of catfish are as large as ten pounds. There is no fishing of the catfish. And since trout cannot bread in lakes and must be stocked there is a two fish limit, but no size limit. Both spin and bait casting as well as fly fishing will catch fish in the lake, the fish appear to be keen on fly fishing, we think because they don’t see flies as much as bait. We believe our fishing is on par with any other spot in North Carolina.
