My husband who is a retired law enforcement officer (the last 14 years in CSI), and is still working part time in same, and I as a critical care nurse have what you may call stressful positions. We have been all over the Caribbean on cruises of all-inclusives of I'd say very well appointed. But to be able to drive a little more than a hour to Saluda and your retreat, is like going hundreds of miles to a beautiful and relaxing venue. We knew as soon as we got there, this was going to be "our place". And the best part is we are able to bring our wonderfully spoiled adopted dog, Docker with us. Thanks folks for providing a great haven, complete with dinner (trout).

Fireplace, the views, big screen TV, the entire inside of the Lake House, the grill is awesome. The master bedroom was perfect overlooking the lake and beautiful mountains. Nice setup in the kitchen with spices and supplies, bird feeder and watching them eat, the decks, the HOT TUB was so relaxing, paddle boat was neat. Fed the fish! We enjoyed being alone, quiet, beautiful surroundings. The walks, waterfall and picnic area was beautiful. We got great pictures. Your place offers so much. We had a wonderful 10th anniversary. Hope to come back and bring our kids next time (maybe)! This was a little piece of heaven on earth. Thanks and God Bless!

Fishing on the lake was great. We really enjoyed everything about the lake!! Hot tub was very nice, and we really loved the deck area. The people of this charming town are such a delight.

We felt right at home from the first day. Really nice change of pace to have the land and the beauty at your fingertips - Mark enjoyed the fishing boat, he's still striving for the "big one". This is truly nature at its best! We loved the Lake House and touring the other retreat areas. The Bear Lodge is quite impressive. We located the waterfalls, but did not get the full experience - next trip! Do not change a thing, we loved everything as is.

We loved the many places to hike and fish. The Biltmore area is fantastic. We loved the view when waking up - the leaves were brilliant. Fishing was fun and the hot tub made for a perfect end-of-the-day after a long hike.

We enjoyed catching all the trout, brim, crappie, and catfish. We stopped counting after the second day! We caught over 20 trout that ranged from 13"-20", 30 something crappie and God only knows how many brim. The fishing and the peace and quiet, walking down to the waterfall and that was really nice.

April, I wanted to take a minute to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay. The log cabin was wonderful! My wife and I both have very stressful occupations - this was the most relaxing vacation we've had in years. I'm certain we will be back. We love the Asheville area and were quitetaken by Saluda. It was very hard to leave! Also, pass on our thanks to Gene! He was very pleasant and helpful.
Relaxing in the hot tub was most enjoyable! Everything is so great around here & everyone is so nice and friendly. Thanks for helping make our honeymoon so wonderful!
